Special Episode — What I’ve Learned From Interviewing 10 People About Decision-Making
Navigating your life after college is hard. How do we know what we want? How do we approach tough choices and forks in the road? The How I Decided podcast helps you navigate these questions through guests sharing stories about their own career and life choices.
With my most recent episode with Kelvin Beachum, the How I Decided podcast has now hit 10 episodes! I’ve really enjoyed taking this podcast one episode at a time and trying to create a better product each time. I heard from someone recently that the average podcaster gets to about 6 episodes before stopping, so it’s good to know that I’m well past that benchmark!
Before I made any episodes I knew that a huge benefit of doing this project would be all the wisdom I would get from hearing guests share more about their decision-making process, their outlook on life, and how they’ve chased their aspirations. After 10 episodes in I’d definitely say that my guests have delivered on all of those things and it’s certainly made me more optimistic about what I can do with my post-college life.
In this special solo episode, I wanted to share a few things. One, how my vision for the podcast has shifted from being purely about decision-making to more broadly about careers and how we can build the life that we want for ourselves. Two, the 3 main takeaways/themes I had from interviewing my guests about decision-making and careers. Finally, I share some ideas for where I see this podcast moving forward.
